PARKING: They have 1 hour metered parking all along BEVERLY. I think it's $2/hour? AMBIANCE: I came during lunch so only the bar was open and it seats maybe 10 people total so there is a wait during lunchtime for their infamous PHILLY CHEESESTEAK. FOOD: $30 PHILLY CHEESESTEAK: it was simple & the wagyu meat was tender with the perfect amount of melty cheese and a nice touch with the toasted sesame bun which made a big difference. I thought it was great! Enjoyed every bite. $4 CHIPS: freshly fried and perfectly salted. Goes perfect with the Philly cheesesteak lunch. OVERALL: Unless I'm craving Philly cheesesteak in this area, YES IT WAS GOOD & I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED IT! BUT did it blow me away compared to normal Philly cheesesteaks, no. Definitively better, but not worth the $30 price point to do casually for lunch. I'm glad I got to experience its deliciousness. One time was good enough for me. Definitely try it if you're in the area!

We love the meat service here when we're craving all red meat. We got the dinner for two which was a little more than needed but we went through most of it. Beginning with the 24 hr bone broth, they served it with a side of salt but we didn't end up using it bc everything was seasoned really well. Then an app of tartare and jumbo shrimp cocktail, following the caesar and a big piece of ribeye cooked to perfection to share. Ambiance was dim lighting and good music, but seating is very close together and convos were loud. Great for the food but come hungry and ok to be in a loud space! Service was attentive and timely.

These were some truly glorious steaks served up by people who clearly enjoy their beef. This was one of the best steak tartare's I have ever had. The servers went on a very long creative explanation to explain the steaks would be cooked how they are meant to be enjoyed which is rare. This is truly not a place I would advise people who prefer their steaks well done. The front of house does an excellent job and we should be able to tip them more than just 18%.

Matu is an anomaly. Part meat palace serving up a multitude of hi-end beef cuts like usda prime, grass fed wagyu, and others. They had the awesome Brazilian picana cut which in the Usa is known as Culotte steak or Sirloin cap. Its super tasty. Every piece of meat was cooked very nicely, always on the rare side. The tallow fried potatoes were fire!! The best thing ive eaten there though, you can only order from the bar. After our big meal, we headed to the bar for "dessert", they serve a philly cheesesteak sandwich. It was one of the best versions ive ever tried. Gooey melt in your mouth delicious!! Gotta try it. Dont leave matu without trying the house cheesesteak!!! Service was great, ambiance was very warm, dark & friendly.

Great deal for quality wagyu steak tastings, with fun atmosphere and great service. Tasting menus like this would be much more at other restaurants , highly recommend

Alright, buckle up foodies, because I'm about to dish out some serious tips for your next dining adventure! So, picture this: it's girls' night out and we're craving some serious meaty goodness. Enter Matu - the spot that's been on our hit list for ages. Snagging that sweet 5:30 PM reservation on a Friday night was like winning the foodie lottery, especially since we had a show to catch later in the city. Now, we knew we had to eat fast, so we let the staff in on our little secret. Quick order in, and boom, we're diving headfirst into Matu's famous Ribeye and Filet dishes. We're had the Filet "a little more" done and two ribeyes in both "warm red" and "a little more" done - and let me tell you, folks, it did not disappoint! These cuts were so tender they practically melted in our mouths, cooked to juicy perfection. And those veggies? Absolute game-changers. Buttery, flavorful, and cooked to veggie nirvana status. Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the steak tartare. Not only was it bursting with flavor, but it also came with crispy toast on the side, adding that extra oomph to every bite. Talk about a culinary masterpiece! Even though we had to dash off to catch our show, you better believe we're already planning our next visit to Matu. Trust me, folks, this place is a must-try for any serious foodie looking to elevate their dining game.

Came for a girlfriend's birthday and we had an amazing time! What a vibe in there. Dark and sexyyyy! Great for date night, great for girls night, great for anything really. Service was on point, gave us recommendations, gave us our space. We shared a bunch of things and seriously everything was so delicious. The steak tartare was perfect and fresh. When you mix the egg in it too, yum! The salad was simple yet good. The beef croquetas were really nice BUT the skewers stole the show. The flavor on it and the sauces. Yummm!!! Broccoli was delicious, nice kick with the garlic and chili flakes. Now for the main event, ya'll the steak was amazinngggg!!! Please look at my pictures and look at that center. Cooked PERFECTLY! Literally melted in your mouth. The whole time I was thinking wow I gotta bring my man here, he would love it. One of the best steaks I've had. Highly recommend Matú!!!

You could tell from my previous visit/ review, I'm a big fan of this place. I won't go into the full background again, but rather just focus on the reason why my buddy and I came here this time - to specifically get the Philly Cheesesteak. This sandwich can only be ordered at the bar. I've already been wanting to come back here with my friend and get this sandwich, but I keep seeing this pop up on peoples favorite/ best of lists. Finally, we decided just to go and boy were we glad that we did. Came in and there was some seating available at the bar. Sat down and greeted by the friendly folks behind the bar. Sitting at the bar has a more relaxed, chill vibe vs. having dinner at the tables, but the service is just as great. The Matu Philly Cheesesteak - it's a pretty sizeable sandwich that comes out on a plate with fresh potato chips fried in beef fat. The meat is grass fed Wagyu and is cooked perfectly and comes out hot - maybe so much so that it's wise to let it cool just a bit. The cheese has a sharp flavor and there are grilled onions. The roasted hot pepper adds some heat / a kick in the spice department - maybe a little too much for me. I braved the first half of the sandwich and was breaking a sweat and my mouth was on fire. I removed the pepper on my second half. It still had the kick, but my mouth wasn't as on fire, haha. The sandwich is also served on a freshly baked sesame roll and I'm a big fan of the sesame roll! Saying the sandwich or cheesesteak is the best in the city is of course subjective, but if someone makes the claim, you're not going to hear any arguments from me that says otherwise. It is truly special.

I love the vibes of this wagyu steakhouse. Great sound tracks, nice upscale atmosphere, lots of patrons and very good servers. Menu is extensive and good but they could use some more options in the fish, seafood and vegetable area. The star of this restaurant are the different cuts of meats that are all cooked perfect. Rib eye and Picanha are my favorites The Japanese ceasar salad is ok, the better salad is the 47 salad All in all a special place to come- but be prepared to either leave hungry or eat before you go- which is why I have given M atu 4 stars
